St. George - Git' Er Done!

These two illustrations were created by me around 2010 to encapsulate the overall 'St. George and the Dragon' story when it was presented as a minor part of the larger article on European Dragons. In 2019, I decided to expand the account of St. George into it's own story, so I also created new artwork for new article... but I thought it would be fun to include these older illustrations here!

As you can see, they were designed to display at a much smaller size originally. I believe the dragon was based off of an illustration from an old Bestiary, though I'm not sure now... the dragons in the newer artwork for the article are based off of artwork of St. George dating back to the 10th and 14th Centuries, so while they may not look like modern ideas of dragons, they are most certainly what some people expected way back when!
