Greek myths tell of a monster that had the heads of a lion, a goat, and a snake, and (as if that wasn't enough) could breath fire. Called the Chimaera, it's name has long since become a descriptor for any creature that appears to be a combination of several dis-similar living things... except we don't expect any of them to breath fire now.
